The following is a comprehensive list of scholarships that are currently available to A.C. Jones students. Please be advised that the list is updated frequently. Houston Area Go Texan
Award Amount: $20,000
Eligibility:
Be a U.S. citizen and Texas resident
Graduating high school senior from eligible school.
Plan to attend an accredited, not-for-profit university in the state of Texas.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – available December 2024
Have met a minimum score requirement for either SAT (950) or ACT (19)

Award Amount: $2,000
Eligibility:
You must be a current Texas high school senior graduating in 2025.
Minimum 3.3 GPA.
Have participated in a UIL competition as a high school student.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Award Amount: $500-$5,000
Eligibility:
Must be of Hispanic heritage
U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US, for the 2024-2025 academic year

Irene S. Wischer Foundation Scholarship

Rocco C. Caffarelli Scholarship

You must be a young man who is a resident of the state of Texas.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
Award Amount: $10,000-$25,000
Eligibility:
Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation.
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and

SOAR Scholarship
Award Amount: $5,000
Eligibility:
Women who are a first-generation college or graduate student or have overcome significant challenges/ obstacles on their educational journey.
Enrolled full-time or accepted to begin full-time in the fall of 2025 at an accredited post-secondary institution or graduate program.
Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Demonstrate leadership abilities
Demonstrate good moral character in all aspects of your life, including personal, professional, educational, in your community, and online presence.

Dennis Henneke Technical/Trade School

Eligibility:
United States citizen

Reside in one of the following Texas counties: Aransas, Bee, Goliad, Karnes, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Victoria
Graduating senior in the school year 2024-2025 or a student already enrolled in a Texas Trade School or College or an individual with a high school diploma or GED pursuing a Trade or Certification in Texas

Stars Scholarship Fund
Award Amount: Varies
Eligibility:
Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
Be a permanent resident (5 or more consecutive years) of and have a permanent South or West Texas address in one of our 30 counties.
Have earned/completed at least 12 undergraduate credit hours at a U.S. accredited college or university before applying for the scholarship (Dual and Advanced Placement credits accepted.).
Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Have completed a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to the Fall of the new academic year.

The GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship
Award Amount: $40,000 ($10,000 per year)
Eligibility: To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.
demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent).
be citizens of the United States of America.
be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and

The contest is open to high school seniors.
Herrman & Herrman encourages creativity and innovation. In our 2023 scholarship program, we want to recognize five innovative students and three teachers who foster creativity in students.
To enter the scholarship contest, students should submit a creative entry via Tik Tok, Instagram, or YouTube (CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS) addressing one of the following topics:
• Explain a family, social, or school situation in which your leadership made the difference. What was accomplished?
• Select a character from pop culture (book, TV series, movie etc.) that you relate to or admire and explain why.
